Lenny the Raccoon

I mentioned Lenny when I uploaded the concept-idea for Sydney, so I'd wanted to draw a quick picture of him too.

Lenny's been my pet-project for the last few years, although I never really had any direction for him until I started taking him a little more seriously. He was originally a very traditionalistic looking raccoon - cool colors, that sort of thing, but when I moved to Las Vegas we stopped at a travel restaurant with stuffed animals from hunts. They had a brown raccoon - literally - and so I'd decided that I was making Lenny brown a year ago, and late decided to make him more furry than animalistic, especially after the project with Sydney was talked about and certain things made more sense.

Regardless, Lenny and Sydney have similar story characteristics. They're both young characters who idolize big-name figures within the entertainment industry.

While Sydney experiences the entertainment world more personally, Lenny's story deals with a simple, boyish aspiration to be on stage with a Houdini-like figure, a talented magician, escape artist, performer. Lenny's from the forest, a more rural and disconnected area from urban society (obviously). After an incident in which he ransacks an important event for the forest inhabitants, Lenny, frustrated, runs away to find the only person he feels understands - the magician he's seen on television.

He does weird things with his hand and has a problem being perfectly still, so that's why he leans the way he does, and why his hands are doing something relatively off and quirky.
